Director of Digital Strategy

Director of Digital Strategy

Reports to: VP, Digital Analytics

Location: Boston, MA - Hybrid


Role Purpose:
Serve as the strategic lead and key contributor within the digital strategy team, responsible for the development, coordination, and optimization of all digital marketing campaigns. This leader will ensure digital investments drive measurable growth by aligning external execution partners, internal brand/creative teams, and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Digital Campaign Strategy & Coordination
    • Own the strategy, planning, and coordination of all digital marketing campaigns.
    • Act as primary liaison with the external digital execution partner, ensuring campaigns align with strategy and performance goals.
    • Partner with Brand Marketing to integrate digital into broader campaign narratives.
  • Testing & Learning Agenda
    • Define and own the test-and-learn roadmap for digital marketing.
    • Develop hypotheses, prioritize experiments, and ensure findings are translated into actionable strategies.
    • Champion a culture of continuous optimization across campaigns and channels.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Partner with Brand Marketing, Creative, and Finance to align campaign goals, creative needs, budgets, and pacing.
    • Ensure smooth collaboration between internal teams and external partners.
  • Performance & Reporting
    • Lead digital channel reporting, providing timely and accurate visibility into spend, performance, and ROI.
    • Track and optimize conversion metrics across SEM, YouTube, Display, and other paid digital channels.
    • Surface insights and opportunities for scaling performance.
  • Team & Partnership Management
    • Act as the internal point person for managing and prioritizing work with external digital partners.
    • Build processes and frameworks for campaign planning, coordination, and reporting.
    • Serve as deputy to the VP, providing leadership continuity when needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 8–10+ years in digital marketing strategy, media planning, or performance marketing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google platforms, including SEM, YouTube a requirement
  • Proven ability to design and run structured testing/optimization programs.
  • Strong analytical orientation; confident with digital reporting, funnel metrics, and ROI optimization.
  • Exceptional communicator and collaborator; able to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic planning with tactical campaign oversight.
